Riding Academy Information
At Knollwood Farm we can take you from beginning to new beginnings.
Our unique and proven teaching methods offer you the finest instruction available. Whether you are learning to ride for fun or looking to compete, we have a program for you.
Safety is our most important concern. Proper attire is required. All students must wear sturdy, hard-soled shoes or boots and long pants made of a soft material.
After three months of enrollment, riders are required to wear jods, boots, their own helmet, and gloves to all their lessons.
Please call us at (262) 367-2391 with questions, to schedule a visit, or to get a more detailed breakdown of our membership!
NO RIDER WILL BE ALLOWED TO RIDE IN SHORTS, CAPRIS OR SANDALS. HELMETS ARE PROVIDED. ALL TINY TOT RIDERS MUST BE POTTY TRAINED.
Please make sure to notify us, in writing, of all necessary information regarding the teaching of your child. Please note the ”Special Needs” section on the Student Application. Failure to properly complete this section can result in a nonrefundable termination of lessons.
Cancellation Policy
24 hour notice of cancellation is required for an individual lesson. If you would like to cancel your enrollment subscription, we require a 30 day notice. Failure to do so will result in continued tuition charges until such a time as proper notice is given. No Refund or Credit will be given for failure to cancel or complete a lesson session. Due to the need to reserve individual slots per person as well as arrange staff, summer camp and horse show cancellations will result in the forfeiture of your payment. Lesson makeups are only offered to students who are showing out of barn, have cancelled due to injury or if we are the ones cancelling a lesson (i.e. due to special barn events, inclement weather, or the inability to find a substitute teacher). If a make up lesson is required, you have 30 days to get it scheduled with your instructor or the lesson is considered forfeit. If several make up slots are offered and not utilized, outside of injury or illness, the lesson is considered forfeit and no credit will be issued. It is our goal to progress our riders into true equestrians. As a competition centered riding school, we cannot do that unless they attend their lessons.

Group Lessons
Our group lessons are currently on an invitation only schedule. We recommend all riders inquire about our Welcome to Knollwood package, which is an 8 week mini group for beginners, that teaches riders how to be around horses, groom and tack, as well as the mechanics of a group lesson! Then from there they can move into private, or group lessons according to schedule availability and individual needs.
Tiny Tots Riding
Our unique Tiny Tot program allows children ages 3-6 to experience the Knollwood method of instruction.
Lessons are a weekly one-on-one, 30 minute session with instructor and equine tiny tot expert. Tiny Tot lessons are constructed around each rider’s individual needs. Young riders will learn basic stopping, steering and voice commands, as well as exercises to develop both balance and strength.
Riders must be at least 3 years of age and potty trained to participate. Length of ride time is solely directed by each child’s attention span and strength of interest. Tiny Totters also practice getting comfortable being on a horse through games and stretches at the end of most lessons!
Rate for Tiny Tot Beginner Team: (ages 3 thru 6) $240/month
Please submit the Student Application and we will contact you within 24 hours to schedule your lesson at your convenience. Note: Payment is not necessary online

Our youngest horse lovers can now enjoy a shortened version of our classic summer riding school. Designed for riders between the ages of 3 and 6, Tiny Tot Camp lets the younger horse lover to groom and tack their horse each day under the watchful eyes of their own 'personal assistant.' Kids will enjoy a riding lesson each day as well as games and snacks each day. The final day even features a demonstration so riders can show parents and friends all they've learned!
